Story Reviews

On Phoning Arcadia:

"The scene is set so well and [she] really makes the era believable through the dialogue. Well done with that. The use of the setting was unique and really made the story seem fresh.... The opening of this story is well-written, interesting, and serves as a great metaphor for relation-ships. There's a lot of rich information in this story. The writer definitely does a nice job crafting an engaging and interesting plot. I especially enjoy the dialogue in the story: for this piece to work, the dialogue has to be fresh, and the writer definitely accomplishes this."

On Cleanliness Is… :

"Wonderfully creative and intelligent. Well-written. I love this story! Wonderful use of concrete and economic sentences. "As he waited, he examined his conscience." Great Line. Extremely clever use of religious symbolism. This is a very cute and autonomous piece of flash fiction.... The premise of the story is an interesting one. I like the deliberate way the writer has of unveiling information. The precision of the sentences make the details come alive for the reader. Something as simple as putting a car into neutral has rich metaphorical meaning. There is a lot of rich writing in this story."

On ScentEasy:

"A thought provoking satire on what is and what isn't environmental, proving it doesn't matter whether you write a pro-environmental story or an anti-environmental one; all things lead to the scent of Rome. It is very well written and made me laugh. Good story."
